When I first bought my sunglasses (from my school student store), it had a "polarized" sticker on it. I tested them to see if they were polarized by putting them on and looking at my laptop’s LCD screen. When i tilted my head, the screen turned black, so i know these sunglasses must be polarzed.
My question is, how in the world can my sunglasses be polarzed when I purchased them for only -? Do you think it’s because the quality of polarization is not very good?

From a purely ‘physics’ point of view, any kind of filter will reduce the total amount of EM radiation passing through it. However, when I wore my friend’s yellow tinted sunglasses today, the world ‘appeared’ to be brighter as a result.

I’ve heard that some sunglasses have only tinted glass and do not actually block or reduce UV rays. Because they are darker, our pupils widen and end up letting in more UV rays than normal, increasing the damage to our eyes instead of decreasing it. I have some old sunglasses and I was wondering if there is anyway to tell if it block UV rays.
They have numbers and letters on the side, is there any chance that these numbers or letters are relative to whether or not they block UV rays?

I really love my oversized black sunglasses but unfortunately the weather is getting humid and hot right now and when I wear my sunglasses, it creates some sort of a make up mark where the glasses touch my face. What should I do? Do other people have this sort of problem?

Im looking at purchasing a pair of Serengeti’s, more specifically the Serengeti velocity’s. I am a pilot so I would use them mostly for driving and flying. I haven’t been able to find a pair to try on so I would have to order them online.
